Brian Clifford Photography

I am an amateur photographer. I started taking pictures as a 15 year old in 1949 when I was given a pre-war 8 mm cine camera, probably a Keystone Model K8. Eventually I became more interested in still photography. My first still camera was an Ilford Sportsman which I acquired in the early 1960's. In the 1970's I progressed to a Praktica single lens reflex and then, eventually, to a Canon EOS 1000. Much more recently I have progressed through a series of digital cameras until today I use a Canon 1000D fitted with a Sigma 18-200mm zoom lens.

I have a large collection of slides and negatives. Some of them, such as the photo of Corfe Castle in the Landscape folder, were taken more than 50 years ago. Unfortunately many have deteriorated so badly as to be unusable except as a personal record. This is probable due to poor storage conditions. The image of me (at the top of the People folder) was taken around about 1978. It shows signs of deterioration but I have included it in the collection for sentimentalreasons.

Besides photography my other main interest is woodturning
